Outreach – collaborations
We collaborate with many external organisations, groups and places of education. Here are a few …
Students from the Royal Holloway Musical Theatre Society chose us as their Charity of the Year
‘The Orpheus Centre and Woldingham School have a fantastic collaboration. This has been evident for over 2 years and each part values the other equally. We each learn new skills from one another and develop potential opportunities so each part can thrive.’
‘We have a weekly Woldingham – Orpheus inclusive musical theatre group which is well attended on both sides- plus many other projects. We both grasp opportunities to work together to build this inclusive collaboration.’
“I thought it would be rubbish, but it was so amazing!”
Daisy is an umbrella organisation which promotes and celebrates the works of disabled artists and disability arts organisations in Surrey. Daisy works with Orpheus to share skills, resources and grow together. They organised for Mathew Bourne’s New Adventures to bring their Swan Lake Dance Workshop to The Orpheus Centre.
This project with Liquid Vibrations enabled our music technology students to devise, record and produce music which could be used in musical hydrotherapy sessions for people with special needs. Watch the film here or maybe you would just like to lay back and enjoy the relaxation music they produced.
Listen to one of the beautiful songs produced in our recent outreach programme Birdsong. This intensive songwriting week took place in a female prison where our students and alumni mentored the participants in songwriting and performance.
